What sets our open water course apart?

At Scuba Steve’s, we go above and beyond industry standards to ensure student comfort and safety. We train our students how to scuba dive confidently; we don’t sell certification cards. Most courses in the Keys are advertised as “3 day” courses, but typically consist of two days or less of actual instruction. This leaves very little time for skill development, and we often encounter divers who are uncomfortable and feel their training was rushed. When you take your course with us, you will have plenty of time to become comfortable and confident across four relaxed pool sessions and four open water dives. Scuba Steve’s provides the quality difference. Our course takes advantage of online E-Learning so you can do most of the academics at your pace on your own time. Upon completion, you come dive with us for three full days of in person training (with lunch breaks). This allows you to maximize your mastery of diving as well as your vacation or free time. Our course includes everything you need to get certified, no gear purchase is necessary.

Small group size for a personal experience:

All courses with Scuba Steve’s are run on our 30’ Delta custom dive boat, which carries a maximum of 6 passengers. Our intimate small boat experience is unique to our area. We provide the most individual attention possible, unlike some larger commercial dive boats where it's easy to feel lost in the crowd. We also limit our student to instructor ratio to 4:1, which is less than half of the industry standard, maximizing professional supervision. Safety matters at Scuba Steves, after all, you are learning to breathe underwater!
